MILK RECIPES
Dear Readers,
I would like to introduce you to wholesome, natural alternatives to cow's milk. For many years there has been a lot of hype about the benefits related to cows milk. Primarily it is has been linked to children growing stronger having healthier bones and reducing the risk of osteoporosis.
On the contrary, once cow milk goes through the process of pasteurization it loses a lot of its nutritive value and minerals like calcium. The finished product of the milk product we consume from the supermarkets has a lot of calories and saturated fat which is definitely not good for your cardiovascular health.
Recently buying cow milk is even cheaper than buying water, are you aware of the amount of processed feeds grains, antibiotics given to cows for commercial ventures? The cattle are bred to produce three times the milk of the old fashioned dairy cow.
Finally or more importantly human beings stop producing the hormone lactase between the age of 2-5 years which is important for the digestion of lactose the main sugar found in milk. The undigested sugars end up in the colon where they begin to ferment producing gas that can cause cramping bloating, nausea, flatulence and diarrhea.
